Avra Wing is the author of the young adult novel, After Isaac, praised by Publishers Weekly as "an emotionally complex story of life, love, grief and recovery." Her previous novel, Angie, I Says, was made into the movie Angie starring Geena Davis and James Gandolfini. Her poetry collection, Recurring Dream, won the 2011 Pecan Grove Press chapbook contest, and she has published poetry in numerous journals. Avra's essays have appeared in The New York Times, and next month her piece, "Meeting Mr. Li," will run in Brain,Child. For the past five years, Avra has conducted a creative writing workshop for the New York Writers Coalition.
